Charlie Siem. From the age of three, Charlie Siem knew he wanted to play the violin. Little did he suspect that by his early twenties he'd be playing with Bryan Adams, international symphony orchestras, and on the catwalk kitted out by Vivienne Westwood. Indisputably a prodigy with film star looks, he adorns the stage at the City Hall on Friday, playing the romantic Bruch Violin Concerto with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
He joined Trisha 'In Conversation' before the concert.




Markus Stenz. German-born Markus Stenz is only the second Principal Guest Conductor in the 150 year history of The Halle. He joined Trisha in a high entertaining 'pre-concert Conversation' on 23rd October.




Vasily Petrenko is the youngest-ever Principal Conductor of the RLPO. Having moved with his family from St. Petersburg to the Wirral, he has transformed the fortunes of the orchestra and is currently mid-way through recording all the symphonies of fellow-countryman Shostakovich.




A regular visitor to Sheffield, the popular and charismatic Music Director of the Hallé orchestra, Mark Elder, conducted the Gala re-opening of the historic City Hall and joined Trisha for their ever-popular 'In Converstion' before the concert.


The Hungarian Maestro Zoltan Kocsis joined Trisha in the Memoral Hall despite refusing all invitations to speak throughout the rest of the tour! Included in the programme was Zoltan's own arrangement of Rachmaninov's songs.


Nikolai Demidenko studied at the Moscow Conservatoire and made his British début in 1985 with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra.He has been resident in the UK since 1990 and joined Trisha 'In Conversation' before the Moscow Radio symphony concert.
